At Electric Yacht Komodo, the safety and security of our guests and crew are the bedrock of our operations. Luxury and adventure can only be truly enjoyed with the absolute assurance of safety. We operate with a culture of proactive risk management, adhering to and often exceeding the rigorous safety standards set by both Indonesian and international maritime authorities. Our commitment to compliance is unwavering, providing you with complete peace of mind as you explore the stunning Komodo archipelago.

Corporate & Operational Licensing

We are a fully legal and registered entity in the Republic of Indonesia, ensuring transparency and accountability in all our business practices.

  • Legal Entity: We operate under a registered Indonesian PT (Perseroan Terbatas) company, fully compliant with all local investment and business laws.
  • Tourism License (SIUP-PARIWISATA): We hold a valid Surat Izin Usaha Perdagangan – Pariwisata, the official business license for tourism operators issued by the Indonesian government (Kemenparekraf), which certifies our legitimacy and adherence to industry standards.
  • Tax ID (NPWP): Our company holds a registered Nomor Pokok Wajib Pajak, ensuring we are a compliant taxpayer contributing to the national economy.
  • IATA Accreditation: Our parent booking entity, Juara Holding Group, is IATA-accredited, which means we meet the highest global standards for financial stability and professional conduct in the travel industry.

Maritime Safety & Vessel Certification

Our vessel is maintained and operated to the highest possible safety standards.

  • Vessel Registration: Our yacht is officially registered with the Indonesian Directorate General of Sea Transportation (Direktorat Jenderal Perhubungan Laut) and flies the Indonesian flag.
  • Regular Inspections: We undergo regular and rigorous inspections by the KSOP (Kantor Kesyahbandaran dan Otoritas Pelabuhan) Labuan Bajo, the local Harbour Master authority, to certify our seaworthiness and the status of our safety equipment.
  • SOLAS-Standard Equipment: Our safety gear—including SOLAS-approved life rafts, life jackets, EPIRB (Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon), SART (Search and Rescue Transponder), VHF/SSB radios, and firefighting systems—meets or exceeds international Safety of Life at Sea conventions.
  • Advanced Navigation: Our bridge is equipped with redundant, state-of-the-art navigation and communication systems, including GPS, radar, depth sounders, and satellite phones, ensuring our captain is always aware of the vessel’s position and surrounding conditions.

Crew Training & Certification

Our crew is our greatest safety asset. We invest heavily in their training and qualifications.

  • STCW Certification: Every single member of our crew, from the captain to the deckhands, holds a valid STCW (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers) certificate, the international standard for maritime professionals.
  • Captain’s License: Our captains hold high-level Indonesian maritime licenses (Ahli Nautika Tingkat I or II), demonstrating their extensive experience and theoretical knowledge.
  • First Aid & Emergency Response: All crew members are trained in first aid, CPR, and firefighting. We have a designated onboard medic with advanced medical training. We conduct regular, documented emergency drills for scenarios such as man-overboard, fire, and vessel evacuation.
  • Social Security & Insurance (BPJS): All our Indonesian employees are covered by BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, the national social security program, which includes work accident insurance, life insurance, and pension plans.

Guest Safety Protocols

  • Comprehensive Briefings: Before every charter departs, all guests receive a detailed safety briefing covering life jacket use, emergency signals, and vessel protocols. Similar briefings are conducted before every activity, such as snorkeling or trekking.
  • Emergency Action Plan (EAP): We have a detailed EAP that includes clear protocols for any conceivable medical or vessel emergency, with established communication lines to local search and rescue (Basarnas) and medical evacuation providers.
  • 24/7 Monitoring: Our vessel is tracked via GPS 24/7 by our shore-based operations team, led by our experienced Director of Operations.

Your safety is a responsibility we take with the utmost seriousness. It is the silent, constant promise that allows you to immerse yourself fully in the magic of Komodo.
